Fire crews were called to reports of a small vehicle fire on the main road.
At around 3.34pm, crews from Bere Regis and Dorchester fire stations were called to a report of a small vehicle fire on the A35 at the Troytown interchange near Puddletown.
On arrival, the report turned out to be a false alarm and crews stood down.
A spokesperson from Bere Regis Fire Station said: "On Sunday at 3.54pm, our fire engine, along with one from Dorchester, was mobilized to a report of a small vehicle fire on the A35 at the Troytown Interchange near Puddletown.
"On arrival, this was found to be a false alarm and no action was needed from ourselves or Dorchester."
